Flowers + (healthy) breakfast for dinner + a glass of wine…

After a day at the office, the last thing I expect on a Tuesday, two days before Valentine’s Day, is a bouquet of flowers. But then again, I have learned to throw the expected out the window with “Mikey”. I haven’t mentioned him until now. I don’t know why? Perhaps, I felt the need to get the ball rolling on this blog/challenge before the introduction of another main character. Kelly Clarkson and I are both dynamic personalities after all.

However, I have decided to share the stage (so to speak), and shine the spotlight on my co-star, best friend, and partner in crime.

I met Michael on April 21, 2017. It was a Friday evening. I had just finished my shift at Fresh Thyme. In my past life, I was a front end manager, which worked out perfectly, because my grocery discount provided the necessary ingredients to make a beautiful Italian dinner. I have always believed the best first date is to cook dinner with somebody.

You can learn a lot about a person by how they navigate the kitchen. I learned a lot that night. I learned that you can fall in love with someone in less than an hour. I learned that I was ready for my heart to be captured. I learned that I was ready to give the “relationship thing” another try.

Fast forward two years later, Mikey and I are living together in a townhouse in Carmel. I will reflect on the details of the in-between years in later posts. For now, you should know that the past two years have been filled with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.

“Have you ever felt low?”

Right now, at this very moment, we are living the best version of our lives together. Sure, we have arguments, tiffs, squabbles, and moments of anger – utter ridiculousness at times. However, we have managed to navigate the rough patches. We have managed to overcome various hardships. We have banded together to become a driving force forward – never backward.

I love you, Michael Bane. And though tonight was simply flowers and breakfast, it was the perfect way to end the day. Even without the bouquet and the eggs, I will always love you.

Goodnight ya’ll!

The life if you and I sharing our troubled relationships , heartbreaks and lessons learned through our endless mishaps with life . Thank you for being my friend and shedding insight into my own relationship with Jon . One of the best quotes as a friend that you ever have me was “ sometimes Michelle , you need a second first chance “ . To the moon my frend ❤️
