The Meaning Of Life

Bible Study with Big John Tracy

Volume 1-1 The Word Was

While John certainly wasn’t present at creation, his writings in AD certainly apply to creation.

John Chapter 1, Verses 1 though 5 say, 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not [a]comprehend it.

I personally believe that any capitalized word, other than a personal pronoun or a word that begins a sentence, is Holy and pertains to God, Jesus, or the Spirit. That said, when the word “Word” is used capitalized, it pertains the Jesus Christ. And although his human embodiment was born in Bethlehem, Jesus was present from the beginning, before creation even.

There are other instances in the Bible where the word Angel is capitalized, and we know from scripture that angels are not Holy. It was either John or Daniel who bowed at the feet of an angel, and the angel told him to stand up and not worship him. And while Jesus was not an angel, he was the Archangel, the leader of all of the angels, so when you see the word “Angel” capitalized, it is my believe that that refers to Jesus.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God”. That tells me Jesus was with God in the beginning.

…”And the Word was God”. I believe in the Trinity, the Godhead. I believe that God (the Father), Jesus (the Son), and the Holy Ghost (the Spirit) are God individually and collectively. Even Jesus himself, while on earth, said “If you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father.”

“He (Jesus) was in the beginning with God”. More affirmation that Jesus was the “Word” and that he was present in the beginning.

“All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” Jesus actually participated in Creation with God.

“In Him was life”, the word Him is capitalized and is, therefore, Holy, “and the life was the light of men.”

Do you have the light of Jesus in you?

And this is where I say, much of the Bible is written clearly and concisely. We can analyze, suppose, and wrestle in our mind contemplating “what does this mean”, and I’m guessing it means exactly what it says. God would not inspire words that are confusing, designed to trip us up or confuse us. I highly doubt that when Jesus returns a second time, He will look at you and say, “I’m sorry, but you failed the Bible test. Better luck next time.” No, the Bible will tell you all you need to know. It’s The Meaning of Life.

So, my take on these scriptures written by John, the Apostle, are to tell us that Jesus has always been here, long before he became a human and walked the earth, that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost make up the Godhead, the Trinity.
