Volume 2-18, Exodus 24-25

Most passed along the law that God had given him, and all the people promised to fulfill it. Then God called for Moses and Aaron, Aaron’s two sons Nadab and Abihu and the Elder to come to the mountain. And they waited for six days, and on the seventh, God called Moses to come up to the mountain. Moses took Joshua, but Joshua did not go all of the way, and when Moses made it to the top, a cloud descended on the moutain, and Moses with on the mountain for 40 days.

In this chapter is scripture that I find to be extremely important, and is just one of the many reasons that I do not believe in an everlasting hell fire.

Verse 17, “The sight of the glory of the LORD was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.”

The Glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire. I believe that in the end, the wicked will be consumed by fire, but not an everlasting hell fire. The punishment for sin is death, NOT the punishment for sin is eternal life in a burning hell. The wicked are consumed by fire, the Glory of God, because they are not righteous enough to withstand His Glory.

God instructs Moses on building the sanctuary, the place in which they can worship. And there are many components of the sanctuary, all of which are important, but to me the most important is the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark of the Convenant, not to be confused with Noah’s Ark, was the Holy vessel that contained the Ten Commandments, and is likely hidden somewhere to this day.

Some of what God instructed was ceremonial and is scoffed by many. But do we not have ceremonies today/ Do we not play the National Anthem before a baseball game? Do we not have the ceremonial first pitch? Do we not have the ceremonial seventh inning stretch? Is we can have ceremonies for something so trivial as a baseball game, can be not have a ceremony to respect and honor God?

Father, thank you for giving us Your Word that we may study it, and discover the true meaning of life, to find out how we should live, and most importantly, how we should not live. Amen.
