This chapter deals with the building of the Tabernacle, and goes into great detail about the artists and how they made it.

This chapter continues with details about the construction of the contents of the Tabernacle, and in my opinion, the most important is the Ark of Testimony, also called the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark was a sacred vessel that was used to contain the Ten Commandments and a jar of manna, and maybe more, we will discover in future chapters.

There has been a lot of discussion on where the Ark is now. Some say the Jews have it hidden away. Others say that perhaps Jeremiah hid it so the Babylonians wouldn’t find it. Others say that it was found and is now hidden in Italy. And we may find that it has been hidden away in some cave in Israel, and through the generations, it’s location has been forgotten. Then again, perhaps God himself has hidden the Ark, and will bring it out in Heaven for all to see and witness.

There have been several documentaries filmed about it, and even one major Hollywood production, “The Raiders of the Lost Ark”, which, you won’t believe, I have never seen.

If it were actually ever found, I would be the last person that would want to even touch it, because one Biblical character did, and he died from it. While Bible interpretations indicate the character did not have permission to touch it and he died from not obeying God’s command, I for one do not believe it. I believe that the Ark was so Holy, he died because he was not righteous enough to withstand the Holy Power the Ark had. You’ll find me over and over, finding the love of God in scripture, as opposed to scripture that indicates God is angry and vengeful. Once again, Jesus said “If you’ve seen Me, you’ve seen the Father”, and I know how the Bible described Jesus’ character, and I have no doubt in my mind that God’s is the same.

The Bible says, “The punishment for sin is death”. That, to me, doesn’t mean that if we sin, God will kill us. We die at our own hand, because of our sinful nature, and because we are not righteous enough to look upon God and His glory is too great for us. The same goes for the Ark. The Ark contains the Ten Commandments, written by the finger of God Himself, so they and the Ark that contains them must be extremely Holy.

Had we not sinned, or as humans today, if we do not strive to repent, truly repent, of our sins, we too with not be able to withstand the presence of God and His Holy things.

There’s an old joke that basically says, “I am so sinful, that if I went to church, it would be struck by lightning.” It may be accurate, not that God will strike us dead, but rather we might be so sinful that our sins kill us.

My God is a loving God. He loves me very much, and He wants me to have eternal life with Him in Heaven. But nothing sinful can reside in Heaven, the current Heaven, or the new Heaven and Earth which has yet to come. Yes, God will forgive us of our sins if we are truly repentant. I compare it to an abusive relationship. If your husband batters you, and he is truly repentant and never strikes you again, you should be forgiving. But if he says he repents, but then weekly he batters you, he is truly not sorry for what he is doing, and his wife should abandon him. The same with God. If we sin, tell God we have repented, but then we commit the same sins over and over again, knowingly, following our human self, then we will end up dying for our sins.

It is hard for us to repent because of our sinful nature, but it has to be done. That is why it is so important to make God Number One in your life. Constantly pray, meditate, read your Bible, be kind, love your neighbor, and every other characteristic that will show God you are truly sorry for your sins.

I apologize for the rambling; this is truly unorganized and I am typing my thoughts as they come into my head.

Be so Holy you will be able to withstand the Glory of God. Be so Holy you will be able to touch the Ark, and withstand it’s power.
