Exodus 38 goes into great details about the construction of more of the furnishing of the Tabernacle. I confess, it is quite detailed, listing the intricate details of how the items should be constructed. I have not yet found a reason why this is documented, but by mere fact that it is included in scripture, there has to be some reason and should be read thoroughly.

Perhaps, it describes how detail oriented God is, and is there to tell us how detail oriented we should be when adhering to God’s commands.

Exodus 39 goes into detail about the making of the garments for the priests, again, in great detail. And the priest wears a breast plate with 12 different jewels to represent the 12 tribes of Israel.

Come to think of it, there may be such details in the description so to show future generations the importance of being respectful of the Lord and His house.

Finally, Exodus 40 talks about the final preparations of constructing the Tabernacle, the portable Tabernacle that is taken down, carried by the Levites to the next camping area, and reconstructed. God has plans for a permanent Tabernacle to be built in the City of David when the children of Israel finally settle in the promised land.

And after the Tabernacle was erected and finished, the cloud of the Lord settled in it.

Verse 34 says, 34Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 35And Moses was not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

Why was Moses not able to enter while the Glory of the Lord was in there? I content that only those that are the most righteous will be able to withstand the brightness of God’s Glory. And I’ve said this before and I’ll repeat it through this Bible Study, I don’t believe in an everlasting hell fire with people burning in hell. I believe that when the new Jerusalem comes down from Heaven, and the Lord resides in it, the wicked will perish strictly from His glory.

The Bible says the penalty for sin is “death”, not everlasting burning in hell. And because I believe God is a loving God that does not kill anyone, we kill ourselves because we are not worthy of being in his presence. Yes, God is forgiving, and for those who truly repent and do good, He will forgive and we will be able to be with Him. But for those who are truly wicked, mock God, turn their backs on Him, they will not be able to withstand God’s Glory because they have chosen to deny Him.

Lord, you know hat I am far rom perfect, that I sin each and everyday. But I’m trying Lord, and it is truly disheartening to see how many deny you each day. Satan has truly recruited them to his side. I pray for those as I pray for myself, to include you in my life and and every minute of the day. Thank you for your blessings and Grace. Amen.

And just one more thing. I was watching a woman on YouTube who was showing everyone how she cooked a particular dish. At the end, she called her husband to be a taste-tester and to review her efforts. She took a fork, filled it with the food, then held it up in the air so her husband could taste it. And before he took that one single bite, he said, “Thank you Lord!”

Oh, how I wish I had his discipline. We pray before meals at our house, thanking God for what he has provided us and asking Him to bless it. But would be think to thank God for a single bite of food? He is surely more righteous than I, but I am still a work in progress.
