1Now the Lord spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered profane fire before the Lord, and died; 2and the Lord said to Moses: “Tell Aaron your brother not to come at just any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark, lest he die; for I will appear in the cloud above the mercy seat.
Why would Aaron die if he went into the Holy Place of the Tabernacle? Will God kill him for disobeying. What does the scripture say? “For I will appear in the cloud”. It is quite clear to me that Aaron is not able to withstand the Glory of God. God will not kill him if he comes in while God is there, the Glory of God will kill him because he is a sinner. And that is how the wicked will perish in the end, my friend. The wicked won’t burn in an everlasting hell, but rather, God will make his appearance, and if you’re not able to withstand His Glory, you will perish, just like Abihu and Nadab.
In this chapter, God gives Moses the rules for the Day of Atonement, which is to be held forever, as a sabbath day, in the seventh month of the seventh day of the Jewish calendar.
Note there are many sabbaths in which God commanded them to honor. Do not confuse these with the Sabbath Day of the week, which occurs every week on Saturday.
