I didn’t mean to intention lie. Yesterday, I decided I would give up my normal Bible Study in order to work on finding out the differences between the Hebrew Bible and the NKJV. But when I woke up this morning, I realized I was going to miss my daily Bible Study.

Yes…even I was shocked. Never in my life did I dream that I would ever miss studying the Bible, but praise God, here I am with an empty feeling in my stomach (and it isn’t hunger, either…I can’t remember the last time I fasted to the point I was hungry). So, I’m not taking a break, I will just continue on and do both studies concurrently.

And we continue with the psalms of David.

Psalm 25:
Verse 6 “Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses, For they are from of old.” – Does this sound like David is talking about an angry and wrathful God?

Psalm 31:
Verse 5 “Into Your hand I commit my spirit”. – This is what is so wonderful about reading and studying the Bible. This phrase, spoken by David, was also spoken by Jesus as He died on the cross. The Bible is not full of coincidences, everything has a reason. David simple offered this in song, not in death; Jesus offered it as He was dying. Was this an unknown prophesy David uttered, or was Jesus quoting the OT while on the cross? You decide.

The psalms, as we will continue reading, are chocked full of information about the character of God. Most of David’s psalm are either praying for relief from his enemies, or are thanking God for His blessings. It is tempting to just read through the psalms as if you were reading a newspaper, but take time to read each line and to comtemplate how David was feeling, what he was going through, and how those exact same words can apply to our lives today.

After these videos, I’ll give a short message on some of the differences between the Hebrew Bible and the NKJV as I’ve found so far.

Genesis 3:24

NKJV – “So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.”

Hebrew – “And He drove the man out, and He stationed from the east of the Garden of Eden the cherubim and the blade of the revolving sword, to guard the way to the Tree of Life.”

We know there is a literal difference between a flaming sword and a revolving sword, but in the context of scripture, is there something here that makes a difference? I’m still thinking if this matters or not; but in my mind, each word in scripture has a bearing.

Flaming sword? Revolving sword? Hmmmm.

By the way, God bless you all.
