Psalm 68:
Verse 2 “So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.” – Another verse I paid no attention to the first times I read the Bible, but because I believe the Glory of God is so bright that the wicked will not be able to stand it, this verse even more strengthens my belief.
Verse 19 “Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits” – We cannot count the blessings the Lord bestows on us each and every day. Yes, we can sit and thank Him for our homes, and the food He provides, the clothing we wear, for providing us with His Word and many others, but there are so many blessings that are hidden from us that we don’t even recognize. A story I’ve related before about the time I had a doctor’s appointment (nothing serious), and when I went to leave the house, I had a flat tire, and I had to call and postpone. While one can look upon that are “bad luck”, I chose to look at it as in “what did God protect me from?” There was the possibility that I would have been involved in a car wreck, but that flat tire (caused by God), kept me home instead. Maybe I would have been carjacked, or maybe my car would have caught fire on the way, or maybe even because I had to postpone, it allowed someone who was more seriously ill get treatment quicker. We don’t know. All we know is that there is a reason for everything, God has a plan for everything, and that His Will will be done, whether or not we understand it. Oh, and we are blessed more that we know.

Psalm 69:
Verse 21 “They also gave me gall for my food, And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.” -This is what they did to Jesus as He hung on the cross. Prophesy by David, or was Jesus quoting the OT?

Psalm 86:
Verse 11 “Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth” – If this is the first time reading this blog, let me say that this is the fourth or fifth (I forget) time reading the Bible. The first times, I used study aids, or Bible reading plans, or some other help in my study. But this time, I’m relying on God’s Holy Spirit to teach me so I can learn the truth of God’s Word rather than some interpretation or tradition of man. And before each Bible Study, I pray to invite God’s Spirit to come into me and teach me, the same Jesus did when He was on this earth. And I may not always have my ears open, but there are many things I’ve noticed this read, that I either never noticed before, or I’m reading it in a totally new perspective. Here would be my advice. Even if you read the Bible using reference material, or read the Bible using a defined reading plan, or even if you are just on your way to church, invite the Holy Spirit to open your mind and heart. Even when you are listening to your own beloved pastor, ask that God give you discernment to differentiate between the Word of God, and the translation of man. If you invite God to teach you, He certainly will.
