Psalm 95, as well as many other psalms and books of the Bible, calls us to sing to the Lord in worship, and to kneel to Him. This has been a practice since the beginning, and is why most churches sing songs of worship, and why they kneel in prayer.

Now, it is not required that you kneel before God..only if you’re able. If you are elderly, have physical problems with your knees, or for some other reason you cannot kneel, do not let that stop you from prayer or worship. You can pray in your car, you can pray in the shower, you can prayer while cooking dinner, you can pray on your work break…kneeling for prayer is not necessary.

Psalm 101:
Verse 5 “Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy; The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart,
Him I will not endure.” – in a nutshell, don’t gossip and stay humble!

Psalm 103:
Verse 11 “For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; 12As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. 13As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him.” – Here is that word “fear” again. Most people think of the very first definition which is to be afraid of something. But we should not be afraid of God, we should be in “awe” of Him, which is another way to define fear, and knowing how loving and merciful our God is, this is the word that comes to my mind when I read “fear God”. The only thing we should fear is ourselves, that we turn away from God, we fail to have a loving relationship with Him, and because we have excuse ourselves from His presence, we will be unable to withstand His Glory and perish. “As a father who pities his children, God pities those who (are in awe) of Him. We are all children of God who is our Heavenly Father, and all He wants is the same love and respect we give, or have given, to our earthly father.
