Today, we conclude the psalms of David; if there are any others, they will be included in with the events of that time period.

Psalm 143:
The title of this psalm is “An Earnest Appeal for Guidance and Deliverance”. How many times do we pray for guidance? Our purpose on this earth is to do God’s Will, not our own, but God’s. He will lead us in life if we listen to Him, he will guide us to fulfilling His plan for us. We should pray each morning for God to open our hearts, minds, and ears for guidance, instruction.
Verse 2: “For in Your sight no one living is righteous.” – Adam and Eve were perfect until they listened to the serpent. After that, no one that has walked the face of the earth is perfect except for one man, Jesus Christ incarnate. Jesus wandered in the desert for 40 days, fasting and hungry, thirsty, being tempted by Satan. And Jesus prevailed, He did not sin. The rest of us? One impure or immoral thought and we’ve lost it. We can be redeemed by Jesus Christ through confession and repentance, but we are all sinners.
Verse 3: “He has made me dwell in [a]darkness, Like those who have long been dead.” – Forgive me for opening a can of worms, but at the end of our lives, we sleep in our graves until the return of Christ. We are unconscious, just as when we go to sleep at night, and when we wake up the next morning, it seems like just a moment has slipped by. The same is when we rest in the grave, we have no conscious thought; one moment we fall into the sleep of death, the next waking thought is when we are resurrected by our Savior, Jesus Christ. Upon death, we do not go straight to Heaven, and there is no everlasting hell fire, we simply sleep in our grave awaiting the return of Jesus. When Lazarus died, did he go to Heaven, or was he asleep in his tomb until he was resurrected by Jesus? When Jesus died on the cross, did He immediately ascend into Heaven, or did He sleep in His tomb, resting on the Sabbath Day, and being resurrected on Sunday? I have no intention of causing the reader of this strife, I’m just pointing out that what David said is true; “…dwell in darkness like those that have been long dead.”
Verse 11: “Revive me, O Lord, for Your name’s sake!” – Even David’s countenance fell to the point he asked God to revive him; we all need a little revival every so often.

Psalm 144:
Verse 15 “Happy are the people whose God is the Lord!” – Amen!

Psalm 145:
The title of this psalm is “A Song of God’s Majesty and Love”, and David once again praises God and talks about His wonderful blessings. This is one psalm that can be read over and over and never get old.
