The Meaning Of Life

Bible Study with Big John Tracy

Satan Has Infiltrated the Church

Normally I try to study the Bible at least once a day, sometimes twice, then post my opinion on what I’ve read. Each day before Bible Study, I pray that the Lord sends His Spirit to me to teach me, because I no longer feel that I can trust “The Church, Inc.” And I am not talking about one individual denomination, I’m talking all denominations.

This morning I was on Facebook, and there are a few different Christian pages I follow. Today, one of those pages which promotes following The Torah, mentioned something (about following The Torah), and here was the response of one of the commentors.

There are always some non-believers that “troll” these pages and either mock God, or talk about the “Sky Daddy”, or the “fictional” Bible, comparing it to Harry Potter or Star Wars, or something like that, and while they used to anger me, now I’ve just decided they are simply that, “trolls”, working for Satan and trying to discourage others from following Christ. But when I read this comment today, my heart almost stopped, and then for a while, it literally ached thinking about what this gentleman had been taught. If there is a church or a pastor who is teaching that there is no more sin, it is no wonder the world has fallen so deeply.

And the sad fact of the matter is, what he said is not in the Bible anywhere, it had to have been taught by a pastor through a sermon.

And that takes me back (I know I’ve said this before), to the pastor back in the 1800’s that was confronted with the topic of hell. His response, “I know there is no hell, but if I don’t preach hellfire, I’ll never fill the church pews!”

What are pastors preaching today? I know many churches today are “progressive” and are following “modern culture”, and I know for a fact many are not preaching the truth. But have they sank so low and have given Satan so much control that they are teaching that there is no more “sin”?

And this, again, is why I have such a hard time when I study the Bible. First of all, it was written by men, men who have the same emotions, perceptions, and misconceptions I likely have. They say it was inspired, but who is “they”? Man, man says it was inspired. Who translated the Bible? Man. Who decided the true meaning of the Hebrew language? Man. Today, we know there is a difference between there, their, and they’re, but how much of a difference was there actually between the Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic writings and the English version we know today. And after studying how the King James Version was written, they didn’t just use the original language of the scrolls, they used many different sources, including a wide variety of translations from a wide variety of men.

Please do not get me wrong, I’m not saying the Bible is invalid. I’m just saying that you have to dust off your Bible and read it for yourself, you have to take into consider the culture, times, and the mood of the writers, and most importantly, you have to pray that God shows you the truth!

And here’s an example I go to time after time. I hear so many Christians talk about how angry God is, how full of wrath He is, how He will render justice on Judgment Day and how the wicked are going to burn in hell for eternity. And when I say that “a God who will burn you in hell for eternity is a sadistic God”, they alway reply, “But He is a just God.” How many Christians are Christians because they truly love their Creator, and how many Christians are Christians because they want to avoid hell. To be saved, you have to love God, not be afraid of Him. But if you read the Old Testament and take the words at face value, then yes, it does appear that God is angry, wrathful, and frothing at the bit to punish the wicked. Thankfully, I don’t believe that is God. God is just like Jesus, He is Jesus and Jesus is God.

Please, please, please, I implore you to read your Bible. Pray for understanding. Do not look for loopholes that allow you to sin, instead, look for the true character of God.

And finally, please help me pray for this man who believes there is no longer any sin in this world.
